Arrive into Edinburgh and we will have private transport arranged to make your way to our accommodation. After settling in, you’ll have time to freshen up, adjust to the local time, and perhaps enjoy a gentle stroll to get your bearings. This flexible arrival allows each traveler to choose flights and routes that best suit their schedule, but take advantage of the group shuttle should they wish. Your main touring program begins from Edinburgh, so just be sure you are in the city by this evening.
Start the day with breakfast at your lodging on Barra. Your hosts may offer a mix of cooked dishes and continental choices, often featuring local ingredients where possible. Make sure you have weather-appropriate layers ready, as conditions on the islands can change quickly.
Enjoy breakfast at your accommodation on Barra before your clan gathering! A hearty meal of hot and cold options will set you up well for the day’s travel and festivities around the Clan Macneil Gathering.
Enjoy breakfast at your accommodation on Lewis, savoring a first morning on the island. Choose from a selection of cooked favorites and lighter continental options, complemented by tea and coffee.
Today’s touring focuses on Royal Deeside, with a visit to Balmoral Castle (subject to seasonal opening) and time in the village of Braemar. Explore the castle grounds and surrounding scenery, then stroll through Braemar’s streets, perhaps visiting local cafés or shops. The landscapes here are classic Highland glens, with wooded slopes and river valleys, making for a scenic and memorable day in Aberdeenshire.
*Please note Balmoral Castle is pending availability, as the Royals often come up for summer holidays and they will close the gounds to visitors.
