Staff associated with the Scotland Folk Tour were very impressive. Bruce was very knowledgeable and the coach driver very skilled. The organising staff were also very helpful and patient. Top marks for all. Unfortunately there was a problem for me and my partner. We are both vegan and had liaised with the organising staff to ensure we were fed balanced meals during our stay. We had a promise from the hotel that we would be provided with a vegan menu on arrival. This menu did not appear and we were told that items from the "proper" menu would be "veganised". Unfortunately this meant removing pretty well all the protein. The room was tatty and dirty - we had to get the maintenance staff to call every morning to turn off the shower. We were not offered an alternative room. As I said, all the staff associated with the tour were first class, but because of the problems with the food in the hotel, we cannot recommend the tour to vegans and vegetarians.

We had a fantastic trip -- thank you Bruce Fummey! If you, as a reader of this review, are interested in Scottish history at a depth that facilitates actual understanding, then this is the trip for you. If you like to laugh (a lot) and enjoy learning, then this is the trip for you. And, as a bonus, if you appreciate fun, like-minded, company and good food and lodgings, then this is the trip for you. If this has tweaked your interest, then take a look at Bruce's weekly YouTube site scotlandhistorytours -- what you see is what you will get, plus the fun company. I would have given it six stars, but only five were allowed.

What a wonderful way to get to know this beautiful country! Thank you for making this small but wonderful tour possible. In Naomi and Duncan, we had two wonderful guides who introduced us to their homeland with great dedication. There were lovely concerts by local musicians, wonderful evenings with whiskey tastings and good food, stunning landscapes, and picturesque old castles to explore. In Keegan McInroe, we had a tour leader who is not only a talented musician but also a wonderful person. I had a fantastic time and definitely want to visit Scotland again. Highly recommended!

The borders tour with Passerine was amazing. Fiona, our first guide in Stirling was fun and energetic. She is so knowledgeable about the area and willing to explain anything! We were impressed with all accommodations and would recommend them to anyone visiting those towns. Gail! We had so much fun with Gail. She is an excellent navigator and driver and is quick to change plans when needed. Her music taste is impeccable. Gail was very entertaining, obviously knows Scotland, and enjoys her work. Passerine! A fantastic show of talent and class. Their shows were engaging and the late night jams were a nice end to the day. They made the guests feel welcome. The local talent at each stop were all great representations of the varied layers of folk music of each region visited. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this adventure.
