Fiona and Doug were excellent in their roles. The local guides were very knowledgeable too. We really enjoyed the musicians. The hotel accommodations were very well located, mostly fine and charming. The food was very good except at the last dinner in Stirling. We really had a great time and will recommend it to others.

Having traveled to Scotland multiple times on similar musician-led tours, I have a different perspective than the other folks on my tour. Scotland, of course, always gets all the stars - beautiful country (no matter the time of year), wonderful people, TONS of history. Alexis, our travel agent, did a masterful job of wrangling accommodations for us. Some were challenging - no lifts/elevators - but we managed with help from each other, wrangling bags up the sometimes-narrow stairs. It needs to be understood by travelers that staying in some of the older, re-fitted buildings means lifts are probably not available. The first hotel had a charming lift, like something out of a 1940's movie, with a gate that had to be closed before it would move between floors. Our walking tour guide filled us with history in an entertaining fashion while taking us through interesting non-touristy spots in Glasgow. She pointed out samples of the prevailing artworks depicting the miracles of St. Mungo, its founder (Bird, tree, bell, fish), and challenged us to find more. Our driver/guide was an amazing addition to this trip - full of history and legends and knowledge of the best chocolate stops and prettiest beaches for picnics. And a masterful driver - he had to drive the van in reverse for a significant distance on a narrow road to get to an alternate route when the original one to our destination was blocked. And he explained the custom of 'blackening' a prospective bridal couple (covering them with molasses, parading them noisily (yes, alcohol is involved) through town, just before we got to witness such an event in Kirkwall.

I enjoyed this trip immensely. Thank you so much. Doug expertise in geology and driving were a big plus!

Well, planned trip, great transportation, our driver/Tour later was the best, the sites we visited were top-notch and well described to us and questions answered. Accommodations were good for the most part. A couple could have been better. Music was beautiful and very organic. Communication worked great from before the trip started. Timelines worked great all of our events were managed quite well.
