This is a great opportunity to experience the unique beauty and personality of Scotland. The daily tour sites and hotels were selected very well. The tour guides were all excellent, and our interactions with them and the local musicians allowed us to personally connect with Scottish folk. It was a fantastic experience! I recommend it for anyone considering doing it.

This was my first time in Scotland as well as going on a bus tour like this one. Overall, the trip was wonderful and I had a great time. Scotland is a gorgeous country and the people there could not be lovelier. The musicians who performed for us were a lot of fun and very talented -- there's nothing like live music. I look forward to listening to the CDs I purchased. Our guides, Fiona and Doug, were walking encyclopedias of Scottish culture and history, which I greatly appreciated. In addition, Doug is an amazing driver and kept us all safe as he navigated the tour bus through narrow, winding roads. The food was good and we had access to some terrific restaurants in the towns where we stayed. I have only two suggestions. One is to please have more dairy free options at the hotels for those of us who cannot partake (where dinner is included). Two is to have more salad/veggies on the menu for us North Americans (U.S. and Canada). The last night's BBQ was delicious, but more green salad would have made it just that much better. I would recommend Scotland Folk Tours to future travelers who want a guided tour. It was nice not to have to think about what to do next because it was already planned.

A great musical and country tour, with fantastic guide Fiona and driver/guide Duncan for the sights, and Buddy and Mike and many local musicians for the sounds! And what a wonderful group of fellow travelers! Can't wait to go on the northern Scotland & Orkneys tour with Buddy and Mike!

Scotland was a beautiful experience...the whole borderlands tour was incredible. The hotels were mostly great, just a few issues that I had. The food was ok... the barbecue the last night was very good.. Gail was absolutely the best ...the best at driving, historical information, story telling, and entertaining. Fiona,at the beginning of our trip was just as knowledgeable and fun.

We had a fantastic time! The trip was well planned and executed. Our travel mates were fun and engaging. We especially enjoyed Doug, our tour guide for the second half of our trip, who was very knowledgeable and an excellent driver. We found the travel to be relaxing and easy. The accommodations were comfortable and well planned. Having breakfast included made mornings quick and easy. The distance between accommodations made the travel relaxing even though we were changing hotels occasionally. The musical acts that we were introduced to us were entertaining and delightful. And each had a different take on the folk music of Scotland. We would travel again with the Scottish Folk Tours. They were easy to work with and communicated changes quickly. We only wish we had a little more time to explore at some of our locations. All in all, an excellent tour in an absolutely beautiful country with lovely citizens. Well worth our time and money.
