This trip exceeded our expectations! Everything was wonderful, especially the leadership of Brian Kalinec and the awesome tour guides Fiona Brown and Gail Williams. Their stories were interesting, and they were both so pleasant, knowledgeable, and helpful. We already knew some people on the tour and it was great to get to know them better and to meet new friends as well. The live music was fantastic, from Brian Kalinec and those on his record label (Daniel Boling and Jim Patton and Sherry Brokus), the Scottish musicians set up by the tour, and also from other guests and our lovely guide Gail! I also loved the recorded music she played on the bus. She would tell a story about a place we were going to see, and then play a song about it. The accommodations were comfortable and varied, every place was different. We enjoyed the food on the group meals as well. There was a lot of thought put into the choices. When the schedule needed to be changed, they worked hard to find alternatives. We went to so many historical picturesque places, learned so much, and had so much fun. We highly recommend it to others, and would love to take another one someday.

We had a great time, good accommodations and food. Washcloths would be appreciated in the restrooms. Gail and Fiona were fabulous.

Hi Carl, thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review! That is a very helpful note.. while we don't have control over what the hotel provides, we have had this comment before. Maybe we should start giving these out at the start of the tour? Again, thank you and we hope to see you again!

The accommodations were well placed and comfortable, our guides were knowledgeable and made the trip fun, events were well scheduled, as we were on a folk music tour the concerts were varied and all the performers talented and interesting. It was a wonderful introduction to Scotland for me, I thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

Small tour group made it easy to get to know one another and make new friends. Excellent tour guides with incredible historical information and fun personalities created an exciting experience and a feeling of family. The concerts with local musicians and Moors and McCumber were intimate, fun and very entertaining. All the locations we stopped at and the accommodations were wonderful and memorable.

This was an outstanding trip. Moors & McCumber are fantastic musician and always bring quality musicians to play for the group. Fiona our guide in Edinburgh was a gifted historian. She was fun, efficient and on target with her scheduling. Doug the bus driver was professional and drove safely. He has exceptional knowledge of history and geology. Each day was interesting and filled with laughter. Hotels and breakfast foods were good. My favorite hotel was Kintail, near Isle of Skye. Dinners were outstanding even as we were without power in the inn for about 40 hours. Luckily the kitchen had a generator. Overall this was an excellent trip - music, history, ruins, castles, beautiful countryside, good people and lots of humor, just a perfect vacation!

Thank you for leaving us such a lovely review! It seems like you truly experienced what it is like to be the vanguard of Europe against the mighty North Atlantic, feel it's forces and carry on and make something special out of it - just like the locals! We hope to see you again for another adventure soon!

The borders tour with Passerine was amazing. Fiona, our first guide in Stirling was fun and energetic. She is so knowledgeable about the area and willing to explain anything! We were impressed with all accommodations and would recommend them to anyone visiting those towns. Gail! We had so much fun with Gail. She is an excellent navigator and driver and is quick to change plans when needed. Her music taste is impeccable. Gail was very entertaining, obviously knows Scotland, and enjoys her work. Passerine! A fantastic show of talent and class. Their shows were engaging and the late night jams were a nice end to the day. They made the guests feel welcome. The local talent at each stop were all great representations of the varied layers of folk music of each region visited. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this adventure.
